It's Monday, What Are You Reading? -- vol 2

(I got the meme at Laughing Stars Bibliophile).

What I'm Reading:

Recovery from Compulsive Eating (sorry -- I know it's overboard on the eating books but I like reading supportive stuff along with every life project and I'm determined to really get it solid THIS time. )

How to Get Control of Your Time and Your Life
-- this is one of the most sensible and practical time management books I've read. I think it's one of the forerunners too -- a lot of the modern time management books springboard off these concepts, so some of it seems like truism now. It even pays attention to the homemaking role, and doesn't always harp on getting rich and working less hours the way some of the modern ones do.

Wizard of Earthsea -- never read it before, now fancy that. But I thought it was time for some fiction!

What I Finished:

From last week: I finished reading Compulsive Overeater, and Winning Souls for Christ. The others are still in progress.

Read-Alouds:

Paddy and I finished Five Children and It and started The Story of the Amulet.

We're still working on Return of the King.

  1. We are kind of at low tide with reading right now. I'm reading a Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court. It's good but rather anti-Cathoic. I'm having a hard time finishing it just because when I get a chance to read it, I wind up falling asleep.

I also started reading the Didache's History of the Church. I read chunks of it before but this time I'm reading it in prep for a Church history teen group.

I'm sad because my 11 yo announced he no longer likes to be read to. Sob. But I'm reading The Secret Garden out loud to my soon to be 9 year old. What a wonderfully written book. We are loving it.
