Now, let's say these areas are still relatively clean and tidy, and I want to go onto the next stage. What then? Here's the main focus of the "second day" of getting back into the routine then:
- Bathrooms
- Kitchen
- Laundry Room.
Ideally, when you've finished cleaning these areas, the surfaces should be mostly bare and sparkling. That's the main agenda. Every couple of months or so, it's good to completely scour the floors and counters but it doesn't seem necessary to do this every time you go in there.
While you're cleaning in these rooms, if there's any extra laundry in the laundry room, dishes in the sink, or dirty towels in the bathroom, get them dispensed with too.
I'm going to try to take "after" photos when I actually do this today or tomorrow.
In the meantime --a couple of years ago I made these checklists for these areas -- you can click on them to make them bigger. They are for deep cleaning so I might not have to do all of this in a given day, especially if I am just focusing on restoration, not pristine-ness.
These are docs.
This is what they're supposed to look like.
If you knew how grubby my kitchen is right now! It hasn't really been cleaned since last night! Eek. You have inspired to call the troops and get working on it. I love the quaint lists. Where do you put them?
