Nature Walk -- late October

In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks.  ~John Muir

There was a planned power outage yesterday so we decided it was a good day to go on a nature walk. So we drove for a few minutes to get to a place where we could see a view, and some different scenery from our usual walk.

“Anyhow we never know where we must go, nor what guides we are to get---people,storms, guardian angels, or sheep....”-- John Muir

“Everyone needs beauty as well as bread, places to play and pray, where nature heals and give strength to body and soul alike. -- John Muir

Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves. ~John Muir

“When we tug at a single thing in nature, we find it attached to the rest of the world.”-- John Muir
Walking takes longer... than any other known form of locomotion except crawling. Thus it stretches time and prolongs life. Life is already too short to waste on speed. ~Edward Abbey, "Walking"

“Between every two pines is a doorway to a new world.”
John Muir

“One should go to the woods for safety, if for nothing else.” -- John Muir

  1. Is this where we went for a walk the day Michael Jackson died?

  2. Beautiful quotes today, Willa. I'm praying for God to show me a place in the woods where I can get lost with Him.

  3. I think so, Chari. Thanks, Sandy, I hope you find that place, I forget to be grateful sometimes that the woods are right outside our door!
